Temple Sinai's Religious School students investigate their Jewish heritage through traditional studies and creative activities. Monthly cooking, music and art programs add to the academic curriculum. Our goal is for the children's religious school experience to be a positive and joyous influence in their lives. Our Religious School is led by Tracy Bartlett, feel free to contact her at any time.
The 2008-2009/5769 Religious School year begins Sunday, September 13th at 9am. Mid-week Hebrew School begins Tuesday, September 15th at 6pm. All grades of Religious School meet on Sunday mornings from 9AM to 11:30AM, immediately followed by Hebrew School for Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 from 11:30AM to 12:30PM. Students in grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 will also meet for Hebrew School Tuesday night from 6-7:00PM.
School will be closed on several secular and religious holidays. The dates include: Nevada Day, Thanksgiving Weekend, Winter Break, President's Weekend, Spring Break, Pesach, and Mother's Day. A full calendar is available the first day of school.
To continue our tradition of wonderful holiday celebrations we ask each family to volunteer their time and talents to help with one or two celebrations throughout the year. Our wonderful celebrations could not take place without the support of volunteers.
We also will continue our tradition of monthly Family Shabbat Services. Please plan to attend each month. Each month a different class participates in the service and hosts the Oneg. The dates can be found on the calendar each month. This is a wonderful opportunity for the entire family to celebrate Shabbat at the synagogue together. Come sing, pray, listen to stories, see friends and enjoy the peace and joy of Shabbat. Rabbi will continue her tradition of using the Story Box to bring Jewish wisdom to the children. The children will have an opportunity to become the characters in a tale that always ends with, "everybody lives happily ever after!"
